Hulk Hogan is one of the most famous old generation wrestlers, who is known for his eccentric personality. It’s no secret that a lot of wrestlers (if not all) use or have used illegal steroids. If you look at the sumptuous physique of the Hulk, you see that he isn’t an exception.

Hulk Hogan’s Background

Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, was born August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia. Everyone in the hospital was astounded by the newborn’s weight – about 5 kilos (11 lbs).

Hogan continued to enthuse people around him (at school and university) enjoying the status of the tallest and largest boy. When he started to work at the bank, he couldn’t fit his enormous body at the table which caused awkwardness.

When being at school Hogan got profoundly interested in basketball. Due to his perseverance, he managed to achieve excellent results in it. If he hadn’t been seriously injured he would have become the best basketball player in Florida.

Having graduated from college, Hulk enrolled at the University of South Florida (USF). He majored in economics and business. He passed an internship in a local bank branch. His love for music led him to join a band which played in bars. Jack Brisco noticed the bulky musician during the performance and introduced him to a wrestling coach — Hiro Matsuda (Yasuhiro Kojima).

The idea was appealing to Hogan who had been interested in this sport since childhood and had been a great fan of Billy Graham. He had secretly dreamed of emulating the famous wrestler.

Hulk Hogan’s wrestling career took off at breakneck speed. He climbed the stairs of a wrestling career pronto. In 1984, he gained the first world championship victory having defeated The Iron Sheik who was considered unbreakable.

The wrestler allowed no one to deprive him of his world champion title for seven subsequent years. The most prominent fight in Hulk’s career is that with Andre the Giant, 92 000 viewers watched. In the ring, Hogan weighing 125 kg defeated Andre weighing 250 kg. After this battle, the people came up with a term called wrestlemania (wrestling obsession), denoting a craze for wrestling.

In 1994, Hulk Hogan was publicly disgraced when he was forced into a court for steroid use. Hulk started taking steroids in 1976 when he was just starting out as a professional wrestler (as he later admitted.) In the 90s, Hulk was granted immunity if he gave evidence against Vince McMahon. However, the process collapsed, Vince was acquitted, but it still caused a wide public response.

After the trial’s end, McMahon shocked pressmen and Hogan with a statement that Hulk Hogan’s lies eminently demoralized and were ironic because Hulk abused steroids more than anyone else.

Despite the problems with steroids, in 1999 the Hulk returned to the world-class sports. Thanks to Hulk Hogan, wrestling gained enormous popularity in America at the end of the last century. In 2005, the athlete was introduced to the WWE Hall of Fame, a “roll of honor” for professional wrestling personalities.

Hulk Hogan’s Steroid Using

Can you imagine that one of the greatest and influential professional wrestlers would admit using steroids and talk openly about it? Hulk discussed his durable experience in using performance-improving meds in 2013 on the show of Rover’s Morning Glory radio.

He said that it was absolutely correct to use steroids at the beginning of his career. There were no severe restrictions; any doctor could give you an appropriate prescription. At the time, taking steroids was considered okay. There were thousands of athletes from various sports, using steroids. He specified that initially steroids’ aim was to help with injuries and other medical conditions. They were not meant to be performance enhancers as they are nowadays. Hulk said that the attitude towards steroid use changed dramatically in the mid-1990s. Ergo, these drugs became illegal. The era, when steroids were used massively in almost every sport has gone. Currently, there are now only semi-occasional cases of use.

What Steroid Cycle Did Hulk Hogan Use?

Lamentably, there is no exact information about the athlete’s steroid cycle. Hulk Hogan never told which steroid drugs he takes or has taken.

We can reason that Hulk Hogan has taken several steroid groups to increase his sports performance and build monumental physique. While testifying, he said oral steroid pills, and injectable steroids were in his cycle.

Testosterone (probably testosterone enanthate), Anabol and Deca are among the anabolics which the athlete used. According to Hulk’s testimony, Deca was the most commonly used steroid.

Testosterone classically was the base of his cycle. Using it, Hogan managed to recover from serious injuries and confirm his WWF leadership in the 80s.

Deca played a significant role in building the athlete’s body. This medication belongs to the group of the hardest and the most solicited steroids on the market because it causes surpassingly rapid muscle growth in comparison with other meds used for cheating.

At last, classical Anabol (Methandienone), which is also a fantastic steroid, aimed at gaining weight and body recovering, was also probably used by Hogan.
