What about Zac Efron? Did he use steroids?
Zac Efron’s childhood
Zack was born on October 18, 1987 in the city of San Luis Obispo, California.
His parents, David Efron and Starla Baskett, had Jewish roots. Dad worked as an engineer at a power plant, my mother worked there as a secretary. After acquaintance, wedding and birth of children, his mother became a housewife. Zac has a younger brother, Dylan, who is 4 years younger.
When Zac was six years old, the family moved to a small town called Arroyo Grande, which is three hours away from Los Angeles. Despite the fact that it was near the famous “dream factory” (Hollywood), in childhood Zac did not dream to grow up and go there to become an actor. He wanted to be a good sushi maker or tester video games.
He visited an ordinary secondary school and, like any normal boy, spent a lot of time with friends in the yard, playing soccer. He was not an excellent pupil, but at the same time he did not experience any problems with school subjects. Zac liked to make classmates laugh. Little Efron was very fond of sports. He tried golfing, skiing, snowboarding, but especially fond of basketball. However, he also had some the creative hobbies. He sang well, constantly invented some melodies and muttered them softly.
Some people discovered that he had an acting talent. When Zac was only four years old, he was already on the stage of a local school theater. The pupils there performed various performances and invited the kid to play the roles corresponding to his age.
Parents, noting the singing talent of the child, gave eleven-year-old Zack to the music school at the theatrical college of Alan Hancock. Here, after a “draft”, young Efron was invited to play in the play “Gypsies”. Zac liked the opportunity to enter the real theater stage, and he gladly agreed. The performance was put on the stage of the city theater almost a hundred times, as many times Zac went to the theatrical stage in a gypsy costume. The laughter and applause of the audience changed the priorities of the young actor. Efron fell in love with the theater.

When Zack Efron turned 15, he went with his mother to Los Angeles, where he tried his luck on casting. His efforts were crowned with success: the guy received several episodic roles in the rating series “Crime Scene Investigation: Miami”, “Firefly” and “Emergency Room”.
In 2004, 17-year-old Zack was spotted by the famous producer Harry Winer, who included Efron in the permanent composition of the multi-serial family tape “Summerland”. In the 1st season of the saga, the young actor played a secondary role, but in the second season he appeared on the screen much more often. The shooting took place on the beach, so Zac began to surf and became a fan of this sport.
After the release of the family saga “Summerland” Zac Efron became a recognized and sought-after artist. After filming in this series, he was offered a major role in the film “High School Musical”, where Efron played Troy Bolton. This musical film brought the young artist a real glory. In this film, he played in close collaboration with the beauties Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale. This trio became so fond of teenagers that director Kenny Ortega soon released two more parts of the film, called “High School Musical 2” and “High School Musical 3: Senior Year”.
During this period, Zac graduated from high school and continued his education at the University of Southern California, but he had to postpone training because of the incredibly tight schedule.
The famous young actor was mentioned by many critics who found beautiful words to describe him, and the youth audience loved him so much that the name of Zac Efron in search engines went up to the second place, ahead of the popular program called “American Idol”. The guy was awarded prestigious 2005 Teen Choice Awards.
After High School Musical, Zac Efron accepted the offer of director Adam Shenkman to play in his new musical “Hairspray”. The young actor met on the set with such Hollywood stars of the first magnitude, as Michelle Pfeiffer and John Travolta. To get the role, Efron defeated two hundred young colleagues during the selection process.
The thriller “The Paperboy” received high scores of viewers and excellent reviews of film critics. For the role in this movie, the actor was first nominated for the Palme d’Or in Cannes. In the same 2012, the audience saw a drama directed by Ramin Bahrani, which was called “Hell or High Water”. It was a story about a father who tried to give his son a family business, but the guy did not want to accept this offer, dreaming about the career of the rider. As you might have guessed, Zac Efron was the son. This film claimed to receive the Golden Lion in Venice.
Zac Efron’s last notable roles in the films include “That Awkward Moment”, “Dirty Grandpa” and “We Are Your Friends”. The comedy “Dirty Grandpa” was released in 2016 and immediately won the audience, which is not surprising, because the main roles in it played Zac Efron and Robert De Niro, who played a grandson and grandfather.
People started talking about steroids when they saw the actor in the movie “Baywatch” where he had a better muscle definition than Dwayne Johnson.
Zac’s comments about his physique
On the eve of the release of the film “Baywatch” the actor shared the secrets of his ideal body. In particular, he told how his gym trainings were going: “When I came to my coach Patrick, I was sure that we would start doing bodybuilding and work with weights, but everything turned out exactly the opposite. We stretched a lot, ran for short distances with “explosions”, perform exercises with a lot of reps. Every day we did something new. It was incredibly interesting,” Zac said.
In order to achieve the desired physique, Efron trained 4-5 times a week for six months. And the work continued outside the gym. To get used to the role, the actor received extra swimming lessons in the open ocean with a real lifeguard, also he rode 30 kilometers on a bicycle.
“Zac is now in such excellent shape that even the smallest muscles are visible on his body. He’s perfectly prepared. All our trainings were not in vain. But do not forget: if you want the same body as Zac, then in addition to physical exercises, you must observe the proper diet,” Patrick Murphy (the personal coach of the actor) said.
By the way, in December 2017 Hugh Jackman published a photo with Zac Efron. Actors together starred in the musical “The Greatest Showman” and continue to spend time together in the gym. In the photo, Hugh and Zac show their biceps in ordinary sport shirts and shorts. It should be noted that the physical form of Zac in this photo is not as good as it was before the release of “Baywatch”.
